Creating successful listing on our system requires a little forethought.  You will get traffic to your listing simply by people finding WeGotHome.com,  but the true power of your listing is mostly determined by the information you provide for each of your properties.  Below you can find some simple guide lines.

You will have a successful listing if you follow these simple rules. (with our system and on the search engines)

  • Make sure you choose the correct "type" for your listing.  Each of your pages are indexed to the search engines.  If you choose "irrigated farm" then this is added to the title and meta-tags of your listing.  This is vital to search engine rankings.  If your exact listing "type" is not currently listed on our system please contact us.  Although we are bound by certain rules because we specialize in rural properties we consider all requests.  We want your listing to be successful.

  • Make sure that your listing qualifies for "keyword density"  This simply means that each of your listings should have a minimum of 50 words and should have certain words associated.  For example if you selected "acreage with home" then you should put the terms "Acreage with home" somewhere in your listing information.  The more times it shows up the better you will qualify for keyword density and this will better your search engine ranking for the page.

  • Try to add at least 4 pictures per listing.  People like to see pictures.  Although our system will take larger images it is best to keep your images below 550 pix wide.  This allows your pictures to download faster so web visitors will have an easier and faster experience when viewing your listing.

  • At least once in a while consider featuring a property in our system.  Because of the high volume traffic that our feature listings receive your listings will get a better placement not only on our site, but with the search engines by featuring.

General Listings Rules and Suggestions:

Steps to get Started

Once you have been assigned a password, please make sure you have these items gathered, organized, and in proper digital format/specifications before uploading your data (original recorded plat, original recorded restrictions, 4 digital photographs, company logo, and lot price list with acreage sizes if applicable). Feel free to take this sheet with you to your neighborhood Kinko's or local blueprint copy shop. They will be able to help you with all of the specifics for each step below.

Step 1: Scanned plat at actual size: Any Kinko's will be able to have your plat scanned either in-house or at their closest facility with these capabilities (Greenwood, SC). You may find pricing and/or quicker turnaround time with your current blueprint copy center as long as they Adobe Acrobat Software. Note: The file must be saved as (.PDF) no wider than 1500 pixels or 20 inches wide RGB.

Step 2: Scanned Restrictions: Any Kinko's will be able to scan a full set of (registered) restrictions as one file and save as (.PDF). You may find better pricing with your current blueprint copy center as long as they have Adobe Acrobat Software. (Restrictions must have a stamp of registration in order to comply with our agreement. Remember, you are responsible for accuracy of all material you post to the WeGotHome.com website.)

Step 3: Photos: All photos must be saved as .JPG, .GIF or .PDF files, RGB color, and sized to 640 x 480 pixels, 72dpi. It is very important to have these settings correct to ensure quick rendering time on your web page.

  •  Digital Camera: All digital cameras automatically have the correct .JPG and RGB color settings as standard. However, be sure to have the camera size set at 640 x 480 pixels, 72dpi BEFORE taking pictures. DO NOT HAVE THE CAMERA SET ON THE LARGEST SIZE; it is OK if sized smaller than 640 x 480

  • Conventional Camera: You have two options Option 1- Have your photographs developed and burned to a CD which will automatically as .JPG, RGB, and sized to 640 x 480 pixels.

  • Option 2- Have the developed scanned and saved onto a disk as .JPG or .PDF as RGB color, sized to 640 x 480 pixels. Any local Kinko's can do this for you. However, this is the most expensive way to convert your photos.

Step 4: Logo Upload: Have your logo scanned if you do not already have it in digital format. Logo should be saved as .JPG RGB at 70 x 44 pixels. (DO NOT stretch logo to fit this exact size. Logo should stay proportioned.)

Step 5: Lot Price List: If you plan to upload individual lot prices, make sure you have a list of lots along with acreage size and pricing so that you can enter all information at once. OR, so you can input path, get the full URL address to your specific price sheet page on your company website.

Please Note:

(Saving Extensions .JPG or .PDF in RGB color is extremely important!) If your images are not saved properly, your page could take too long to upload and your customers will become impatient therefore leaving your page and looking for others.
